Valentines Pizza Recipe

Valentines Pizza Recipe

Instead of giving my wife flowers and chocolates for Valentine’s Day this year, I decided to do something a little different - I decided to make her a heart shaped pizza.

I started with my favorite dough recipe: 72 Hour Dough. Once the dough was ready to go, I shaped it into a heart.

Next, I added my homemade tomato sauce and some cheese; I used fresh mozzarella and shredded fontina. Then I fired up the oven with my Original Baking Steel, of course.

Once the oven was hot, I put the pizza in the oven and let it cook for about 4 minutes until the bottom was nice and crisp. I used a 14 inch pizza peel to get this bad boy out of the oven - very helpful with the funky shape - and voila! I created heart shape pizza before my own eyes.

It looked so good, I just had to try it…and boy, was it delicious! I can’t wait to make another for my wife on Valentine’s Day!  I just need to work on my heart shape skills a bit more..

Let me know if you try to make one this Valentine’s Day. And tag us #bakingsteel on Instagram.

I hope everyone has a great Valentine’s Day.

Shape your dough into a round and then pick up two corners and do your best to form this into a heart.  You'll probably do a better job than i did.  Just make it with love you you can't go wrong.
