It's all about having fun in the kitchen and pushing the boundaries of flavor and textures..

How Can I Make Pizza Dough Ice Cream at Home?

Wait, is this really a thing?  Pizza dough ice cream? The answer is yes. all you need to do is follow these three simple steps:

1. Preparing the Pizza Dough

First things first, we need to either buy or preferably make pizza dough.  Our favorite is our 72 hour dough To keep this simple, i used our 72 hour pizza dough recipe and made some pita bread.  I chopped up the pita into bite size chunks.

2. Get your Baking Steel Original into the freezer for 24 hours.

After baking, it's time to get chilly. Toss your Baking Steel or Baking Steel Griddle into the freezer. overnight.  We want your Steel ice cold . We are making ice cream.

3. Prepare your mix-iins.

Now comes the fun part! We are going to create Cold Stone Creamery at home.  Remove your Baking Steel from the freezer and place on your counter.  I place mine on top of a couple of bar towels, to keep it from sliding.  Next dump a couple of scoops of ice cream onto you Steel.   Place your chopped toppings on top.  I used chocolate chips and cooked pizza dough chunks.  Working fast, use two dough scrapers and start to chop, slice and then dice all the ingredients together.  After a couple of minutes, scoop into a cone or bowl and serve.
