Let's get down to it, I'm about to share with your, the tastiest and healthiest peanut butter sandwich on the planet.
I have found the best peanut butter in the world. It's the smooth operator from Peanut Butter & Co. This is not even open for discussion, it's hands down, the best (and no, this is not an AD, just my honest opinion). When I was a kid, my mom made me peanut butter and fluff on weekends, a total treat. That was before we knew that fluff wasn't good for you. Luckily, as an adult, I have found a healthy alternative.
So, in honor of #ThrowBackThursday, we're going to put a spin on one of my childhood favorites. We'll start by throwing down some banana rounds on a hot Baking Steel Griddle; caramelizing the bananas will bring out a sugary goodness.
Let's do this...
3 oz. Smoother operator Peanut Butter
1 banana - cut into rounds and caramelized on the Griddle - or any hot pan will do
2 slices of bread
1. Throw your Griddle on top of the stove and blast to medium heat.
2. Coat your Griddle with a smidgen of canola or vegetable oil and toss on the bananas. Cook for about 1 minute and flip. Bring out a bit of color.
3. Butter one side of each slice of bread, and spread peanut butter on the other side. Toss on the banana slices and place sandwich, butter side down on Griddle. Cook for 3 or 4 minutes per side.
4. Remove from Griddle, slice , take a photo for Instagram and devour.
