Pizza making is not just a hobby, it is my passion. That is why, a few months back, while discussing renovation plans with my wife, we made the decision to turn our barn into a test kitchen. I am happy to announce that after months of hard work, Baking Steel's new headquarters is almost complete.
While the final touches are still being added, the ovens are in. I woke up yesterday and immediately took my dough out of the fridge, it was pizza making time. I fired up the Thermador gas range for the first time, to say I was excited would be an understatement. I kept it simple for the first batch of pies and pulled out the ingredients for a margarita pie.
My first pizza making session in the test kitchen exceeded all my expectations. The first pie, right out of the oven had crazy heat coming off of it. It was beautiful. I had no doubt that the Thermador would deliver and boy was I right!
I can't wait to be able to show the barn to all of you. I have a feeling there are a few Baking Steel parties in our near future ;)
